CONSTRUCTION has begun on a new care home in Barnsley which will provide support for complex needs and create 100 jobs.
Exemplar Health Care, a leading provider of nursing care for adults living with complex and high acuity needs, has begun construction for its latest site on Perseverance Street, Barnsley.
Due for completion by December 2025, the new home will be named Springfield Vale, and will provide comprehensive support to adults living with complex needs arising from brain injuries, dementia, mental health conditions, neuro-disabilities and physical disabilities.
Featuring 33 spacious en-suite bedrooms split across three units, the home will follow Exemplar Health Care’s unique small group living model, which provides a homely, supportive, and responsive care environment.
The home will have its own multi-disciplinary team including Health Care Assistants, Registered Nurses, a Physiotherapist and an Occupational Therapist.
Springfield Vale will be Exemplar Health Care’s third care home in Barnsley, with the organisation already operating ‘Outstanding’ rated Dearnevale care home in Grimethorpe and Neville Court in Kendray.
Exemplar Health Care will be recruiting a diverse range of positions later this year inclusive of care, nursing, management, administrative and care home support.
Construction firm Walter Thompson has been appointed to build the care home.
