THE International Space Station will zip across Barnsley's skies tonight.
The spectacle, which will look like a bright light passing across the sky, will be visible as darkness falls today at around 5.20pm.
Excellent viewing conditions are expected - weather permitting - making the timing perfect as the nation's excited kids scan the skies for a glimpse of Santa.
The space station, which was launched in 1998, is the size of a football pitch.
It currently has a crew of two American men, two men and one woman from Russia and one Italian woman.
