BARNSLEY will receive £2m from the Department for Transport to help towards maintaining its roads.
South Yorkshire as a whole was awarded £6.73m from the Local Highways Maintenance Fund, which is being divided up between Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham.
Sheffield was not eligible due to its standalone ’Streets Ahead’ initiative.
