A SMITHIES man who failed to comply with the requirements of a community order has been fined £1,600.

Stuart Sexton, 43, of Bellmer Close, appeared at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court last Thursday.

He admitted breaching his community order by failing to attend two unpaid work appointments – one in September and another in October.

Sexton failed to provide any explanation or evidence within five working days of these absences.

He was fined £1,600 and will pay £200 per month, starting from January.
