THE Young Champions awards for 2025 have been running for three months now and the deadline to nominate your talented youngsters is fast approaching.
It has been another incredible year for the awards, after they returned in 2024, and it’s safe to say that there’s already a lot of talent on display with those put forward.
But there’s always room for more and we’re continuing our search for anyone under the age of 21 who deserves extra recognition for their efforts.
Whether a committed charity fundraiser or an up-and-coming sporting star, then send their details over to the Chronicle so that they can be in for a chance.
The categories for this year’s awards are:
Student of the Year
Young Apprentice
Young Fundraiser
Young Carer
Young Sportsperson
Young Volunteer
Young Conqueror
Young Community Hero
Young Entertainer
Young Entrepreneur
Special Achievement
Young Team of the Year (Sport)
Young Team of the Year (Community)
Young Team of the Year (Entertainment)
All nominees will be featured in the Chronicle before judges draw up a shortlist in May.
Those finalists will be invited to the Metrodome on June 13 for the awards presentation, hosted by children’s television presenter Sam Nixon.
If you know anyone who you believe is worthy of one of these awards, send their details and a brief description to youngchampions@barnsley-chronicle.co.uk.
