A WOMAN who gave household waste to an unregistered carrier has been fined.
Stephanie Woodcock, of Low Grange Road, Thurnscoe, pleaded guilty to the charge during a hearing at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court. The 55-year-old was pursued by Barnsley Council having breached the Environmental Protection Act. She was fined £270 and told to pay a £108 surcharge.
A MAN whose cash was seized by South Yorkshire Police is set to appear in court next week. A total of £10,311 was taken from Joshua Barber, of Darton Lane, Mapplewell under the Proceeds of Crime Act.The 29-year-old’s case will next be heard at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
AN arrest warrant has been issued for a Hoyland man.Simbarashe Kudangirana, of Oak Close, breached the requirements of a community order made at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court last August. The 32-year-old failed to appear to answer the breach at the same court on Tuesday and a warrant was subsequently issued.
A MAN who failed to keep up the terms of a court-imposed order has been fined. Callum Davies, of North Royds Woods, Athersley North, was sentenced to complete a series of rehabilitation requirements but failed to attend appointments between December 2024 and January 2025. The 30-year-old admitted the breach and was given a £120 fine at a hearing at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court.
A FLY-TIPPER is set to be sentenced next month. Daniel Williams, of Hough Lane, Wombwell, appeared at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court last week to plead guilty to dumping waste in an alleyway off Osborne Street, Barnsley. The 34-year-old was bailed while a pre-sentence report is compiled. He will return to the same court on April 14.
