STAFF members at a local care home are preparing to swim with sharks to raise funds for their residents.
On July 23 the team of four will be diving into the shark tank at Sea Life Blackpool.
A Deangate Care Home spokesperson said: “The four members of staff will be diving into the shark tank at Sea Life Blackpool to raise funds for our wonderful residents. Every penny will help us create exciting outings and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.”
In the meantime, staff at the home have been getting the residents involved by dressing up in shark costumes.
“We’re hoping to raise at least £500 for the residents at Deangate. We also hope to donate a percentage to the Royal British Legion.
“Let me introduce you to four brave members of staff that potentially become live shark bait! We have Rachael Addy, activities coordinator, Lisa Naylor, senior carer, cook Cheryl Pinner and carer Troy Hunte.
“We all work at Deangate Care home in Mapplewell and we will be taking a dip on the wild side and swimming with some sharks to raise money for our wonderful residents.
“Your help and support would be massively appreciated so please sponsor me. All monies raised will go towards outings for the residents, as well the ability to give our residents as many once-in-a-lifetime experiences as possible. Just think how happy you could make our residents.”
