MORE than 160 yobs who turned on the police during a huge protest outside a hotel in Manvers in the summer have now been positively identified.
According to a report, a total of 164 suspects were identified as being involved in the incident, outside the Holiday Inn Express on August 4, with 86 people already being convicted. A total of 14 people remain on police bail.
Over 60 police officers, three police dogs and a police horse were injured following unrest that took place.
The hotel was also serious damaged during the disorder leading to costly repairs.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We have commenced a full debrief to draw upon learning from all aspects of the operation.
“In the months following this incident our investigation has resulted in 86 people being charged and over 150 years’ worth of jail sentences handed to those responsible.”
