A POPULAR Christmas lights display will be switched on this Sunday at 7pm for the 13th year running with a new synchronised music feature.
Last year Rob Sorfleet, owner of the property on Firth Street and designer of the display, raised £200 for local Barnsley charity H.O.P.E in Community providing support to improve health, wellbeing and education.
This year Rob will be raising money for Andy’s Man Club, a men’s suicide prevention charity.
Despite the lights amounting to £450 in energy bills, Rob said: “If it can make one person smile, it’s all worth it.”
He hopes to lower the cost through offering advertisement slots to local businesses, but still aims to raise £500 for charity.
