A SCHOOLGIRL has won an art competition that will make her design the new official logo for the Proud of Barnsley-nominated Shaw Lane Foundation.
The competition was sent to three local primary schools – Holy Rood Catholic, Shawlands and Joseph Locke – challenging pupils to create a design that summed up the foundation’s core ideas about community support for physical and mental wellbeing.
Trustees voted on a design, which was converted into a digital logo, with ten-year-old Anna Sanoj of Holy Rood winning in the end.
As a reward, she has been given a box of chocolates and an afternoon tea for four at the Shaw Lane Community Cafe.
