THE Kes Group handed over a £1,000 cheque to Rob Younger and Parkway Cinema this week to ‘pay them back in their hour of need’.

The town centre cinema has recently pleaded with the public to use its services and were met with support from locals.

Rob, the co-owner of the cinema, has been a long-time supporter of the Kes Group and on Wednesday he received a £1,000 cheque as a ‘thank you’.

Ronnie Steele, chair of the Kes Group, told the Chronicle: “We were helped and supported in our fundraising for the Kes sculpture and so we decided that this would be our way of saying thank you to Rob and his colleagues at Parkway Cinema.

“They’ve been a big help to us.

“We’ll be eternally grateful to them for everything they have done.

“The Kes Group greed unanimously to donate the £1,000 to them.

“We want to help them in their hour of need as they did for us.”
