A LOCAL travel agent has received national acclaim after being presented with a prestigious award by TV host Davina McCall.
Joseph Biggs, who runs the Joe Biggs Personal Travel Advisor Agency, won the award for best home-based travel agent of the year at the TTG Travel Industry Awards.
Considered the ‘Oscars of the travel industry’, the star-studded award show in London – which took place on September 26 – was hosted by Davina and featured entertainment from chart-topping Ella Henderson.
The 33-year-old, from Redbrook, said: “I got nominated last year and made it to the final.
“You’ve got to get interviewed by a panel of the top industry professionals.
“Unfortunately I didn’t win, but got nominated again this year.
“I went through the interview process with the top dogs but you don’t find out who’s won until the night.
“When they called my name I was in utter shock – I’m over the moon.”
