VOLUNTEERS joined Barnsley Council in Wombwell on Monday to take part in a community clean-up.
Wombwell Couns Brenda Eastwood, Robert Frost and James Higginbottom the South Area Environmental Caretaker Team and communities officers alongside volunteers and representatives from South Yorkshire Police, housing and community safety officers for a morning of action.
They tackled litter, fly-tipping and weed removal on Blythe Street, Barnsley Road and the surrounding areas.
In a joint statement, the councillors said: “We would like to say a massive thank you to all who came along to the community clean-up and got stuck in to keeping our area look clean and tidy.
“It was a real team effort an we are grateful to all those who made the event possible.
“We are committed to working together with council services, partners and the community to make Wombwell the cleaner, greener and safer place we can all be proud to call home.”
