PLANNING ROUND-UP: Housing plan for farm building submitted

PLANS to change the use of a farm building into five houses have been submitted to the council.

An application for work to take place at Hill Top Farm, on Eastfield Lane, Thurgoland, was submitted to the council recently. Eleven neighbouring properties have been made aware of the plans with no appeals to date. Public consultation ends on April 7.

PLANNING permission is being sought to change the use of a barn and stable in Cawthorne into two holiday properties. If approved, work will take place at Common Side Farm on North Lane. Eight neighbouring properties have been made aware of the plans with no appeals to date. A target decision date of April 16 has been set.

PLANS to erect a commercial storage unit in Tankersley have been approved by the council. An application for work to take place on Wentworth Way were originally submitted to the council in November. These plans were given the green light by Barnsley Council’s planning board last week.

PLANS to convert two Mapplewell houses into one property have been submitted to the council. If approved, work will take place on Spark Lane. Five neighbouring properties have been made aware of the plans with no appeals to date. Public consultation ends on April 8.

PLANS to build two portable cabins in Stairfoot have been approved by Barnsley Council. An application for the cabins to be added to the existing industrial unit on Hunningley Lane were originally submitted to the council in December 2023. These plans were given the green light by Barnsley Council’s planning board last week.

PLANS to change the use of a former butcher shop in Barnsley have been approved by the council. An application for work to take place on Agnes Road was originally submitted to the council in January. The unit will now be used for ‘mixed-use’ and the first floor will be used as a flat after the plans were given the green light by Barnsley Council’s planning board last week.

PLANS to demolish a bungalow and replace it with a new property in Low Barugh have been turned down by the council. An application for the work to take place on Swallow Hill Road were originally submitted to the council in December. These plans were rejected by Barnsley Council’s planning board last week.

PLANNING permission is being sought to install solar panels at a local sports centre. If approved, work will take place at Burntwood Sports and Leisure Centre on Common Road in Brierley. One neighbouring property has been made aware of the plans with no appeals to date. Public consultation ends on April 8.
