RESIDENTS with views on Barnsley Council’s plan to prevent inconsiderate parking can submit their thoughts by Monday.

A traffic regulation order has been proposed at the junction of Hough Lane and Midland Way in Wombwell, where 61 new homes have been built.

The order will mean double yellows will be painted at the junction in a bid to ‘protect visibility, prevent inconsiderate and obstructive parking on the junctions and improve the free flow of vehicles’.

No objections have been received from ward councillors, emergency services or haulage companies, and now the public have several days to publish their views.

A report states: “Planning consent was granted in November 2017 for a new development of 61 houses with a new access from Hough Lane, Wombwell.

“As part of the planning consent, conditions were imposed to protect the visibility at the new access.

“These measures have been proposed to protect to protect visibility, prevent inconsiderate and obstructive parking on the junctions and improve the free flow of vehicles.”

Any objection or representation should be sent by email to traffic@barnsley.gov.uk.
