BARNSLEY South MP Stephanie Peacock recently attended the Paralympic Games in Paris in her capacity as Minister for Sport.
This summer saw more than 4,400 athletes competing in 549 medal events - 215 of these athletes were from Team GB, with competitors ranging across 19 events.
Ms Peacock cheered on the team, saw some of the facilities in the Paralympic Village, and met with some of the athletes competing.
She said: “It was brilliant to be in Paris supporting Team GB at the Paralympic Games.
“Sport is a huge part of our national story and the UK is the birthplace of the Paralympic Games.
“Team GB have finished in the top three in every Paralympics since Sydney 2000.
“As Minister for Sport, I have been proud to cheer on our brilliant athletes in this year’s Paralympic Games, and wish them every success as they compete in their events.”
