TALENTED local singer Tom Masters will open proceedings at the Young Champions’ awards' night on June 14 with a selection of his favourite songs.

Tom, 26, rose to fame as part of the world-renowned Barnsley Youth Choir.

But his recent achievements as a solo singer-songwriter have seen his fame spread far and wide.

He performed at 214 gigs across the country last year whilst also featuring on numerous regional and national radio and television shows.

His singles You’ll Be Fine and In My Pain peaked at number one in the Singer/Songwriter Charts, and at number 11 in the iTunes Charts.

At the recent Bank’s Got Talent in Pontefract, Tom walked away with a huge £10,000 cash prize.

And then in February, he performed with BRIT Award-winning singer Tom Walker in the town centre. Thousands of locals flocked to the Glass Works to watch the pair perform an impromptu, free concert.
