PLANNING permission is being sought to change the use of the ground floor of a unit on Doncaster Road to provide additional floor space for an existing shop.

The convenience store, based on one of the main routes into the town centre, is currently not large enough to cope with demand.

Therefore plans have been submitted to use the ground floor of a neighbouring unit to create additional floor space.

An external bin store will also be added should plans be deemed acceptable.

A total of 28 neighbouring properties have been made aware of the plans with no appeals to date.

Public consultation ends on December 27.
