TWO Barnsley parks need your help to be crowned the country’s favourite in a national award.
Voting has opened for the UK’s best parks and green spaces - and Cannon Hall Museum, Park and Gardens and Elsecar Park are still in the running.
Both parks were awarded a prestigious Green Flag Award but now the scheme is asking the public to vote for their favourites.
Coun Chris Lamb, cabinet spokesperson for environment and transportation, said: “We have fantastic parks and green spaces right across our borough and we know how much people value them now more than ever.
“I hope the public will show how much they appreciate the staff and volunteers who take such good care of our green spaces and go online to vote in the People’s Choice Awards.
“Elsecar made the top ten last year and we hope it will again, maybe joined by Cannon Hall Museum, Parks and Gardens.”
Voting is now open and closes on November 25. The ten winning sites will be announced on December 3.
