INDEPENDENT shops at a popular heritage site will reopen on Monday, following government advice.
Shops at Elsecar Heritage Centre, along with the Elsecar Antiques Centre will open their doors but will enforce social distancing guidelines to keep shoppers and staff safe.
In a statement on Facebook, a spokesperson for the heritage centre, said: “Safety measures will be in place across the centre, including social distancing, a keep-left system, directional signage, managing capacity inside shops, reduced opening hours, no queue policy in certain areas and takeaway only for cafes.
“We encourage people to shop alone and adhere to the strict social distancing in place. Shopping visits should be carried out as quickly as possible with browsing time kept to a minimum.
“Please note, there will be no toilet facilities or seating areas available.”
