A man and woman have been arrested following an attempted armed robbery in Thurnscoe.
Yesterday morning, officers received reports that masked man had gone into A and H Convenience store on Lorne Road in Thurnscoe and threatened staff with a knife.
The shopkeeper confronted the offender who is reported to have run from the store and got into a silver Vauxhall Astra waiting outside.
The vehicle was then driven onto Canberra Rise in Bolton upon Dearne where it was in collision with a fence and two men were seen running from the scene.
Officers have arrested a 25-year-old man and 19-year-old woman, both from the Worsborough area, on suspicion of conspiracy to commit an armed robbery.
Two men, believed to be involved in the robbery, remains outstanding and officers are asking anyone with information or who saw anything to contact 101 quoting incident 142 of July 31 2018.
