A MUSIC festival is set to take place on August Bank Holiday on the former car park in Old Mill Lane.
The Summer of Love Music Festival will feature Barnsley's leading DJ Shaun Banger Scott, Subconscious and a number of live bands.
The land is owned by local property developer Wayne Hadfield.
Mr Hadfield submitted a Temporary Event Notice to the council for the festival to take place on Sunday, August 30 between 1pm and 8pm.
A council spokesperson said: “While Barnsley Council’s pollution control department has not objected to the application, they have requested that the applicant undertakes regular noise level monitoring throughout the duration of the event.”
