A BARNSLEY service brought home a major award earlier this month.
The Safer Neighbourhoods Service had a major win from the prestigious Resolve ASB National Conference and Awards, held in Nottingham.
The conference and awards night celebrate the work being done across the country to tackle Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and create safer, stronger communities.
A council spokesperson said: “We are thrilled to announce that our Case Management Team were shortlisted in two key national award categories:
Team of the Year – for their outstanding work in tackling an Organised Crime Group and ensuring the safety of residents on the Summer Lane Estate.
Project of the Year – for the Cannabis Grow Aware Scheme, which provides valuable advice to landlords on protecting their properties from becoming cannabis farms.
“At the awards night, the team’s dedication and hard work were recognised with an incredible result:
-
Team of the Year – Winners
Project of the Year – Shortlisted Finalist.”
Councillor Wendy Cain, Cabinet Spokesperson for Public Health and Communities, said: “This is a fantastic achievement and a true testament to the hard work and commitment of the Safer Neighbourhoods Service. Their dedication to making our communities safer is invaluable, and I’m so proud to see their efforts recognised on a national stage. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Berneslai Homes Neighbourhood Officers, the ASB Team, South Yorkshire Police, and Barnsley Council Legal Team – it’s truly a team effort.”
