A KICKBOXER has achieved his life's dream and won a world title.

Mick Crossland, 31, trainer at The Combat Academy in Wombwell, defeated reigning champion Aiden Brooks for the ICO professional world supermiddleweight kickboxing title in Birmingham.

He said he did not think the victory had yet sunk in as he had been working on achieving it most of his life.

"I feel fantastic, it's been like a dream come true," he said. "I don't think it's properly sunk in yet but the amount of support I've had from people has been overwhelming. People I haven't spoken to in ten years have called me and famous fighters have congratulated me. It's amazing."
