A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy from Darton had a track from his album played on a national radio station.

Lauren Laverne played Theo Madden's track 'Romanian American Shipping Forecast' on her 6 Music show after her husband met his parents in a bar in Leeds.

Theo's dad Chris gave him a copy of the youngster's 'Tiny Dinosaur' album and was thrilled when he received a message saying he'd passed it on to his 'better half' who had been talking about it on Twitter.

"When I clicked on the link it was Lauren," said Chris. "She told her listeners she had something very special to play, an album from a little boy in Yorkshire. Then she played the track, which is about a girl who was in Theo's class who was from Romania."

Theo has raised £1,100 for Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice through sales of his album, and has orders from as far as San Francisco, Japan and Vienna.

Theo - whose stage name is Theo Supernaise - has been composing music since he was seven and released the album at his birthday party in July.
