CASH and jewellery totalling an estimated £65,000 has been seized by the police.
Officers used Proceeds of Crime Act powers to detain £60,000 in cash and £5,000 in jewellery from Ashley Walker, of Swanee Road, Kendray. The next hearing about the 28-year-old’s cash and possessions will be held at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court on April 14.
A MOTHER who failed to ensure her child attended primary school has been given a bill of more than £1,000.
Chelsea-Leigh Ferguson, of Helmsley Avenue, Cudworth, was found guilty in her absence at a hearing at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court earlier this month.
Ferguson was fined £660, told to pay a surcharge of £264 and court costs of £180, totalling £1,104.
AN UNINSURED driver who was found with stolen fuel drums whilst on bail has been sentenced.
Tommy Reynolds, of Crown Avenue, Cudworth, was charged having been found with the items in connection to a theft on December 17, 2023.
The 39-year-old was also found guilty of driving a Seat Leon without insurance on Common Lane, Brierley, when he was found with the fuel drums by police. Reynolds, who appeared via video link at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court earlier this month having been remanded due to failing to appear for a previous sentencing hearing, was given a 20-week prison term and banned from driving for six months.
A MAN who failed to keep up with a court-imposed order having been convicted of an assault has been fined.
Daniel Simpson, of Churchfield Street, Great Houghton, appeared at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court last Monday and admitted breaching the community order which required him to complete keep-in-touch days. The 41-year-old was fined £46 and told to pay court costs of £100.
