POLICE are appealing for information following a collision yesterday afternoon which has left an elderly woman in a life-threatening condition.
A police spokesperson said: “Following a road traffic collision involving an elderly woman, we’re appealing for witnesses and those with footage to come forward and assist us with our investigation.
“On Thursday January 30 at 2.30pm we attended a collision on Lower Thomas Street in Barnsley involving a pedestrian and a black Ford KA.”
It is believed that the pedestrian, an 85-year-old woman, was walking towards West Way and crossing the road when she was involved in the collision.
The driver of the KA remained on scene and is assisting officers with their inquiry.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital by ambulance where she remains in a serious and life-threatening condition.
