POLICE are appealing for witnesses, footage and information following a collision in which an elderly man sustained life-threatening injuries.

On New Year’s Eve at 6.20am police were called to Dearne Road, the main road connecting Bolton-upon-Dearne and Manvers Way and Manvers Roundabout, following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian.

It is believed that a black Vauxhall Mokka was travelling in the direction of Bolton-upon- Dearne when it collided with a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a 75-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

The driver of the car remained on scene and is co-operating with officers.
