THE number of visits to Barnsley’s libraries has increased by 13 per cent over the latest three-month period.
From July to September, a total of 185,477 physical and digital visits were made to libraries across the town.
A report states: “There has been an increase with the number of visits to libraries since the previous quarter and we are now achieving target.
“There has also been a 13 per cent increase when compared to the same quarter in the previous year.
“Physical visits continue to increase which is a result of the strong programme of activities that were available at all libraries over the summer period.
“Refurbished libraries also reopened in July 2024.”
