A SKILLS and employability event is planned for next month.
Barnsley Council is planning the event on Tuesday November 19 from 9.30am to 12.30pm, at both Hoyland Library and Hoyland Market Square.
A council spokesperson said: “Whether you're looking for a fresh start, aiming to grow your skills, or looking to engage with the community, we are here to support your journey.”
The event will allow visitors to:
Explore educational and training programs to enhance daily life or professional skills.
Discover volunteering opportunities to boost confidence, skills, and abilities.
Find support services tailored for individuals with learning disabilities, learning difficulties, or autism.
Coun Robin Franklin, Cabinet Spokesperson for Regeneration and Culture, emphasised the importance of this event, stating: “It’s a wonderful chance to realise what’s possible, seek advice, and build confidence. It's essential for our communities to be aware of the available support to improve skills and employability.
“The team has received some great feedback from the events and engagement they’ve had with local communities previously, so I would encourage everyone to discover more about the learning, training and volunteering opportunities that are available."
