RESIDENTS are being encouraged to take part in the annual crime and antisocial behaviour survey in Barnsley.

The Safer Barnsley Partnership is a joint scheme with a number of organisations from across the town, including the council, police and the fire service.

The survey hopes to understand the public’s view of crime and antisocial behaviour in the borough.

The partnership is working with housing associations, local businesses, and voluntary organisations and communities to address a shared vision for Barnsley to be a safe place, where people can contribute to community life, and take responsibility for their actions.

The consultation is launched each year, and this information will be used to plan the next set of priorities that the partnership will focus on in 2025/26.

Coun Wendy Cain, cabinet spokesperson for public health and communities, said: “I would highly encourage everyone to take part in this survey and have their say.

“The information given helps the partnership to see the full picture of what residents are experiencing and help them to build resources and plans that tackle local issues, helping to build a better Barnsley.”

A link to the survey, which must be completed before midnight on September 30, can be found on the council’s website.

Any residents who don’t have access to the internet can visit their local library where they can access the online survey.
