A PROPOSAL to stop cars waiting on two Wombwell streets has been put forward for consultation.

Hough Lane and Midland Way, near to a new 61-house development, are the subject of the ‘no waiting at any time’ restriction.

Residents are being encouraged to have their say on the plans – and if there are no objections the order will be implemented.

A report states: “A planning consent was granted in November 2017 for a new development of 61 houses with a new access from Hough Lane, Wombwell in Barnsley.

“As part of the planning consent, conditions were imposed to protect the visibility at the new access road junction (Midland Way) and Hough Lane.

“These measures have been proposed to protect to protect visibility, prevent inconsiderate and obstructive parking on the junctions and improve the free flow of vehicles.”
