JUST four per cent of complaints received by Barnsley Hospital were deemed to be ‘high risk’, a report has revealed.

Patients logged a total of 292 complaints in 2023/24, bosses were told this week, which is on par with the last two years.

Four per cent were high risk, with 17 per cent being deemed moderate and 79 per cent low risk.

A report said: “We welcome feedback from patients, their families and carers.

“The trust values complaints and wider patient feedback as a valuable opportunity to learn and make improvements to the services and care we provide.

“A customer-focused responsive complaints service is important to the patients who use our services and we aim to be open and honest in our investigation process and committed to identifying actions and learning as a result of complaint investigations.”
