THE Mayor and Mayoress of Barnsley recently got to tour the facilities at Choices Homecare – where they cut the ribbon to relaunch services.
Mayor John Clarke along with his wife Doreen attended the relaunching event for the company, which was previously known as TLC Homecare.
Met by chief executive Richard Walker, the pair were invited to tour the site, meet members of staff from all departments and join in the celebrations at the Stocks Lane site.
Richard said: “We talked about the hundreds of amazing people we employ across Yorkshire, the challenges of providing social care in the current climate and how we were relaunching our vision to be a service to be proud of.
“Importantly, we also enjoyed a cup of tea and discussed the merits of locally-made pork pies.
“We don’t always recognise the importance of care at home and the wonderful people who provide the care to our elderly and vulnerable in the community.
“This was a chance to say thanks and reboot our commitment to providing care in Barnsley – we’ve been here for a quarter of a century and we intend to be here for 25 more years.”
