CARRIAGEWAY resurfacing work will take place at Dean Street and Derby Street from Monday for approximately one week.

A road closure will be in place for both Dean Street and Derby Street, from Shaw Lane to Dodworth Road, between 7:30am and 5pm.

Signed diversion routes will be in place and the road will reopen after each working shift. Access for residents will only be permissible when safe to do so.

This road closure will affect visitors to BIADS (Barnsley Independent Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support). At times during the closure, the usual access to the building via Shaw Lane and Derby Street will be closed. Instead, access to BIADS will be via Dodworth Road and Dean Street, with the no entry at Dean Street suspended to allow access to the building.

Operatives will be on site advising visitors of closures and diversions.

MOTORISTS have been told to expect delays in Barugh Green whilst work takes place. Temporary traffic lights have been in place on Barugh Green Road since Monday, and they’ll remain there until Sunday. Northern Gas Networks are responsible for the work and they say delays are likely in the area.

TEMPORARY traffic lights will be in place on Rotherham Road next month whilst Yorkshire Water undertake work. From July 8 to July 12, motorists have been warned to expect delays whilst the work takes place. Yorkshire Water will be conducting utility repair works.
