A BARNSLEY hip-hop artist has an exciting summer ahead after being announced on the Reading and Leeds Festival line-up.

Delilah Bon, the alter ego of local star Lauren Tate, will perform on the BBC Introducing stage following an announcement last Monday.

Since its inception in June 2007, the BBC Introducing Stage has been pivotal in launching the careers of musicians such as George Ezra, Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, Becky Hill, Jake Bugg, Catfish and the Bottlemen, James Bay and Little Simz.

Delilah said: “It was such a surprise being chosen to represent BBC Introducing and I am so honoured.

“I’ve been wanting to play this festival for so long.”

The announcement of her festival appearance coincides with exciting news of her forthcoming album, Evil, Hate Filled Female, set for release in September.

She’s also embarking on a European and UK tour after performing at the iconic Glastonbury Festival next month.
