A LOCAL car dealership has donated an electric van to Barnsley FC’s charity in a bid to keep kids fit over the summer holidays.
The Summer Sport Van initiative is aimed at enabling children and young people across Barnsley to stay active and connected during the summer break.
Burrows Toyota donated the van for the entire summer holidays, meaning Reds in the Community staff are able to support youngsters through a number of ways.
Kieron Campbell, head of foundation at Reds in the Community, said: “We extend our heartfelt thanks to the remarkable team at Burrows for their incredible generosity.
“For the second year running, they have provided us with a valuable van that will empower us to bring multi-sport activities to hundreds of young people throughout Barnsley as part of our Summer Sports Van.
“Their unwavering support is a catalyst for creating active communities and enabling young people to connect with friends during the summer holidays.”
Steve Davidson, regional director at Burrows Motor Company, added: “We are absolutely delighted to be part of the wonderful initiative once again.
“At Burrows Motor Company, we strongly believe in giving back to the communities that have been the cornerstone of our success.
“By promoting sports and physical activity among the children of Barnsley, we hope to inspire a lifelong love for sports.
“Last year’s success only deepened the company’s resolve to support this initiative again this year.”
