AN artist’s latest portrait really is fit for a king...
Suze Mary Garner was crowned the winner of the Penistone Royal British Legion’s portrait competition to celebrate the coronation of King Charles.
She said: “King Charles has been the longest-ever heir to the throne, having waited 70 years.
“I wanted to mark this historic and momentous event with an oil painting, and feel privileged to have been able to do so.
“The image I chose is one of the King in his uniform I really enjoyed painting the medals. I felt that the uniform helped show his identity both as a man and our King.
“He has a slight smile, which I feel highlights his warmth and personable approach he has with people.”
Her piece of art will now be on display at the club.
