BIRTHING partners will no longer be required to provide evidence of a negative Covid-19 test when attending appointments.
In line with the national guidance, Barnsley Hospital confirmed the changes will come in to force with immediate effect.
Any supportive adult attending any clinical area must be symptom-free of the virus and will be required to wear a mask at all times.
A hospital spokesperson said: “Please continue to inform your midwife if you test positive for Covid-19.
“We thank you for your understanding during this time the health and safety of our mothers, babies, staff and visitors are at the forefront of the care we deliver.”
