A WOMAN was found with the possession of drugs following increased police patrols to help tackle antisocial behaviour in Carlton.
Residents reported seeing individuals causing a nuisance in Carlton Park by being loud, littering, and smoking cannabis.
Officers from the Barnsley North East Neighbourhood Policing Team increased patrols in the area and a young woman was stopped and searched and was found to be in possession of cannabis.
A spokesperson for the team said: “Thank you to all who help us by reporting these issues we face within our community. We will continue to respond to your concerns and be visible in these ASB hot-spots.
“As a reminder, dealing with matters reported to us by the public is our priority and it is a criminal offence to be in possession of cannabis, regardless of personal opinions you may have regarding its importance in policing.”
