AN EMMERDALE actor will host a charity ball in honour of two local hospices next month.
Colleagues from Co-op Funeralcare in Barnsley have announced that the much-anticipated Big Night Out - in support of Barnsley Hospice and Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice - will take place on November 19.
Emmerdale actor, and Yorkshire-born, Dean Andrews will be hosting the charity raffle on the night.
Alan Taylor, funeral director at the funeral home, said: “The past year and a half has proven to be a challenging time for all members of our local community, with local charities being hit particularly hard by the lack of fundraising opportunities during several lockdowns and government restrictions.
“As we are hopefully coming out of this pandemic with a heightened sense of who our community heroes are and all of their fantastic efforts throughout these unprecedented times, we felt like we needed to find a way to say ‘thank you’.
“This is why we decided this winter would be a fantastic opportunity for us to get together, have a lovely time as a community, all while helping raise money and awareness for two extraordinary causes.
“I would encourage everyone, be it individuals or local businesses, to save the date and purchase their tickets for the Big Night Out ball, as we are sure it is bound to be a night to remember.”
Tickets are now on sale and more information can be found on the Co-op Funeral Care social media channels.
