IT'S SNOWING!
The weather has taken a cold turn and it's been snowing throughout the night and into the morning.
Us here at We Are Barnsley want to urge every one to take care when out-and-about and to drive carefully if you do need to travel - espeically in the higher parts of Barnsley.
Gritters were deployed from 6pm last night (December 28) and will continue gritting the roads until the snow clears.
A spokesperson for Barnsley Council said: “For grit to work effectively it needs traffic to crush and spread it across the road.
Even when a road is gritted snow will often still settle so please drive carefully if you do have to travel today.”
