DESPITE the borough being in tier 3 coronavirus restrictions, Barnsley Council is encouraging families to take part in a Covid secure Christmas trail in the town centre to get in the festive spirit.
From December 12, residents can take part in the Glass Works Christmas Trail where clues will be scattered across local shops in the area.
Clues will be displayed in the windows of JD Sports, Coffee Boy, Deichmann, Barnsley Market, Library @ the Lightbox and Falco Lounge.
The clues will spell out a Christmas password you can exchange for a Bright Nights at home activity pack at stall 20 on the ground floor in Barnsley Market.
A spokesperson for Barnsley Council said: “From December 10, businesses and buildings across the town centre will light up for Christmas with illuminating artwork provided by local and regional artists.
“There’s also craft packs for the family to do at home and entertainment on December 19 via Barnsley Council’s Facebook and YouTube channels in Barnsley Bright Nights Online.”
