STAGECOACH Yorkshire has announced that residents in Barnsley will benefit from two improved bus services.
From Saturday, September 5, Hoylandswaine Village will have a more direct link in to Barnsley, with buses on the current service 20 from Penistone diverted to run through the village.
Shafton Green is also to be served by a new service. The Stagecoach number 31 will provide a service during shopping hours, from Mondays to Saturdays, linking the area to Cudworth and Barnsley.
It will no longer serve Crown Avenue in Cudworth which benefitted from an increase in frequency of up to six buses an hour on service 32 last September.
Commercial Director John Young said “We’ll also be making changes to some of our other routes to improve punctuality – we know from research that customers place huge importance on punctual services and our team work very hard to maintain and improve this.”
