A BARNSLEY Hospital employee has raised over £2,500 for its Tiny Hearts Appeal.
Rachel Reeves, who works in admin at the hospital, raised the money by holding a charity night at Wombwell Cricket Club in March.
Her decision to support the appeal came after she had personal experience with the special care baby unit when her son Kayden-Jay was born ten weeks early.
Kayden, who spent 11 weeks of his life on the unit, weighed a tiny 2lb 4oz when he was born and was in a critical condition.
Rachel said: "Nothing can compare to the treatment and care our son received whilst on the unit.
"The way Kayden was treated whilst on the unit and after being discharged was excellent. The staff were fantastic with our family."
