A TALENTED sixth form student at Barnsley College is turning her passion for streetwear into a business after securing funding.

Sienna Zdubek, who is studying A Levels in Business, Economics and English Language and Literature, is using the £450 in funding to launch her own streetwear clothing brand.

“Thanks to this funding, I can now create prototypes and develop professional designs for production,” said Sienna.

She received £250 from the Barnsley College Enterprising Futures (BCEF) fund and an additional £200 support from Barnsley College Futurepreneurs (BC Futurepreneurs), a series of entrepreneurial challenges that help young innovators access funding and develop their business ideas.

Sienna said: “BC Futurepreneurs is a fantastic opportunity for young people interested in business but don’t know where to start.

“It helped me refine my streetwear brand concept, focusing on market entry, customer engagement and one of the biggest challenges – securing manufacturing, which often requires significant upfront investment.

“Thanks to this funding, I can now create prototypes and develop professional designs for production.”

Streetwear is a growing industry, and Sienna is determined to bring something unique to the market. Inspired by her own style, she is designing clothes that she, as a young person, would love to wear – combining comfort, creativity and individuality.

Lee Perks, Enterprise Team Leader, praised Sienna’s dedication: “Sienna was part of our first BC Futurepreneurs group, and it was inspiring to see her embrace every challenge.

“Sienna’s journey with us doesn’t stop here; she will soon participate in our ‘Dragon’s Den’-style event, pitching her business to a panel of investors to secure further funding. I’m excited to support Sienna in her next steps and eager to see all she accomplishes!”
