HEALTH and Social Care students at Barnsley College have been working hard to make this winter a little brighter for those who need it most.

The Level 3 Year 1 students have been packing shoeboxes filled with essentials and treats to bring comfort and happiness to those who deserve it.

Each box includes things like non-perishable food, toiletries, warm clothing, chocolates, and other little luxuries that can make a real difference over the festive season. This effort is in support of Action for Barnsley Homeless, making sure that no one is left without something special this Christmas.

Level 1 and 2 students have also shown what it really means to give. They’ve collected an incredible 117 selection boxes for vulnerable students at Queens Road Academy.

A college spokesperson said: “Their teamwork and kindness are a great reminder of what the holidays are all about – looking out for each other and spreading joy in our community.

“The Health Department is so proud of all the students involved. Their hard work and care have made a huge impact this festive season, showing that even small acts of kindness can bring a lot of happiness to those who need it most.

“Well done to everyone involved – you’ve really captured the true spirit of Christmas!”
