THIS weekend’s Barnsley Christmas Market has been cancelled due to the weather warnings in place for Storm Darragh … but the council has said lots of indoor events will still be going ahead.
The Glass Works, Barnsley Indoor Market and Young Trader Market will all be open on tomorrow and Sunday and there’s a Christmas charity market inside Penistone Market tomorrow (Saturday).
Santa’s Grotto will also be open this weekend at the Alhambra for children to meet Santa, with no booking required.
The Christmas at the Town Hall event will go-ahead inside the Town Hall tomorrow from 11am where there’s a range of festive activities, entertainment, crafts and treats for all the family.
Barnsley Museums have everything place for Christmas cheer, from A Very Victorian Christmas to the 12 Days of Christmas Family Trail at Cannon Hall Museum, Park and Gardens. There’s also a Community Toy Swap at Experience Barnsley tomorrow (Saturday) to help give unwanted toys a new home.
A council spokesperson said: “If you are heading to any of the indoor events mentioned above, please do take care when travelling. Plan ahead and drive safely.”
