TWO women have been given Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) to protect businesses in the town.

Jodie Eldred, 35, and Claire Jones, 40, of Hoyland, appeared before court last week charged with thefts from shops across the town.

As part of sentencing both women were handed Criminal Behaviour Orders, in place for the next three years.

Eldred is prohibited from entering or attempting to enter any One Stop shop within the Barnsley Borough area and from associating or being found to be in the company of Claire Jones.

Jones is prohibited from entering or attempting to enter any One Stop shop, B&M store, McColls store within the Barnsley Borough are and from associating with Jodie Eldred.

Neighbourhood Inspector for Hoyland, Rebecca Richardson said: “Eldred and Jones have blighted our local businesses in the Hoyland area and I am pleased a CBO is now in place to offer the stores protection. If Eldred or Jones are sighted breaking the conditions of their CBO, please report it to us and we will take action.”

Eldred and Jones appeared before Barnsley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday October 16.
