A COUNCILLOR has joined forces with a local clean-up team to target a known littering hotspot.
Coun James Higginbottom, of the Wombwell ward, went out with the South Area Team, focusing on litter and weed clearance in the Cemetery Road car park.
He spent a couple of hours with the team and project officer Andrea Walker to get the area cleared and the car park reopened as quickly as possible for visitors.
Coun Higginbottom said: “It was a pleasure to join the team on a clean-up session in the car park on Cemetery Road, where we focused on litter-picking, weed removal and clearing the boundaries of the car park.
“Big thanks to the team for their hard work and support – together, we’re working hard to make Wombwell a cleaner, greener and safer place for all.”
